During the middle of the 19th century, the Count of Brandis constructed water channels for irrigation purposes. Today, the water doesn’t flow anymore - however, the channels still remain, known as the Brandis Waalweg path. The path is in use all year round and is one of the most well-loved in the Merano countryside. We decide to explore these old channels during autumn
