San Martino, the main village of the municipality, is located at 597 m a.s.l. on a plain debris cone at the western riverbank of the Passirio, at the foot of the Punta Matatz mountain. One of the sights is the parish church dedicated to San Martino. First mentioned in the 12th century, this church gives its name to the village and the municipality. The interior is adorned with beautiful Baroque altars, which are pieces of art of the arts school of Val Passiria, which had its seat in San Martino. Still today the façades of many residences are decorated with paintings of this school.
San Martino offers varied possibilities for leisure time activities: hiking in the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, a jump into the public pool of the village, bowling, billiard or tennis, there will be no boredom in the village. The offer regarding sports is completed by the modern climbing hall of San Martino, equipped with a climbing surface of 270 sq m.
