In the place where the Val Passiria valley branches off westbound, there is the little village of Cresta, located directly above San Leonardo. It has about 100 inhabitants and nestles at the foot of the Gruppo di Tessa mountains.
Cresta is above all famous as stopover for hikers of the Alta Via Meranese. From Cresta you also have the possibility to descend to the valley.
