Prantago is located at 987 m a.s.l. and nestles in the east of the main village of San Leonardo in Passiria. It can be reached via several hiking trails and a mountain road, called Prantacherstrasse. There is actually no real centre, the farmsteads are in fact spread on the Prantago mountain. Prantago borders on San Martino as well as on the localities of Mora, San Leonardo and Fartleis. The village of 150 offers a challenging 18-hole golf course, where you can enjoy playing golf almost the whole year round and providing lasting golf experiences.
A very popular excursion destination is the Malga Pfandler, an alpine pasture at 1,350 m a.s.l., who owes its fame to the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer, who had hidden in this place before he was captured. Today at this place you can find the Museum Malga Pfandler, part of the MuseumPasseier. Starting at the Prantacherhof farm, the alpine pasture, open from May to October, can be reached in a walk of about an hour.
