Moso

The main village of the municipality is located in the valley floor at 1,007 m a.s.l., flanked by the summits of the Stubai Alps

Moso is located in a central position in Alta Val Passiria, where the two valleys of Plan and Corvara branch off. Not only the natural architecture of the Gruppo di Tessa mountains, but also the construction method of the Gothic Assumption parish church dating back to the year 1402/03 with its 52 m high steeple are worth seeing. The picture of the high altar dates back to the Baroque style, while the Via Crucis was realised by Nikolaus Auer, an artist of the Val Passiria.

One of the main attractions of Moso is located along the road to Passo del Rombo, that is the Bunker Mooseum. It is a museum dedicated to archaeology just as to the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, to contemporary history of the Val Passiria and to the adventure mine of Monteneve. By the way, this museum can also be climbed, as there is an artificial wall on the facade with 6 routes. Further 18 routes on the climbing rock make this place fascinating for climbers, while an ibex compound casts a spell over the kids visiting this museum.

Moso has also a new symbol, which is the garnet on a precipice. This sculptures are implemented in the frame of a trans-border project between the municipalities of Hochgurgl in Austria and Moso in Passiria.
