The village of Santa Valburga is located at 1,190 m asl and was originally located on a hill above the village
For this reason the church, dating back to the 14th century, is located away from the village and can not be seen immediately when you come to the village. As there was not much space left round the sacred building, for this reason the village that emerged is rather a scattered one. Still today a series of interesting wooden buildings can be admired.
The artificial lake Zoggler at the end of the village was established in the 1950s. A series of impressive farms had to make way to this lake. The Pracupola farm and a Gothic hill church can be discovered on the other side of the lake. The farm and the church are the oldest of their kind in the village, this is where once upon a time the pilgrims travelled to Rome.
