The neo-Gothic parish church dedicated to S. Nicolò represents the centre of the village in the Alta Val di Non. Round this sacred building there are cosy taverns and farms. Proves is located in sunny position in 1,420 m a.s.l. and is the highest located village of the Alta Val di Non. Idyllic, this might be the right description for this spot of land. Proves by the way also offers a fantastic view from the village, for example on the great low mountain ranges of the Trentino, almost to Lake Garda.

Proves is also the site of one of the most popular lace-making schools. Once upon a time the access of the village was long-winged. Thanks to a direct road, however, today you can simply turn left before reaching the village of Santa Valburga.
