The small village of Caprile extends at a relatively high altitude of 1.050 m a.s.l., about 4 km above Tesimo, and offers a breathtaking view on the Dolomites. As far as the sights are concerned, you should make a visit to the St Nicholas church, dating back to the 13th century and reconstructed in the 16th century. It is adorned by well-preserved frescoes on the exterior façades. Especially popular by families with children, however, is a visit to the Rainguthof farmstead, an old farmhouse with lots of animals, such as dwarf goats, dwarf sheep, Mangalica pigs, donkeys, ducks and many others.
No matter if you would like to make a walk in the forests of Prissiano, a hike to Zwingenberg Castle, a stroll along the Mill Path (Mühlenweg), which takes you from the village of Prissiano to the Gfrillerhof restaurant in Caprile, or a hike to the Monte Luco pasture (1,835 m a.s.l.), the village offers various possibilities to people who would like to spend active holidays. By the way, you can also easily visit the neighbouring Province of Trento, which can be reached by following the road to Passo Palade.
