Located at the foot of the Gruppo di Tessa mountains, Parcines is considered the „gate to the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park“. It boasts a total of 3,800 inhabitants and nestles between orchards, comprising the localities of Parcines, Rablà, Tel, Vallettina, Quadrato, Monte Sole e Tablà, not to be confused with Tablà belonging to Naturno.
Peter Mitterhofer, the founder of the typewriter, is undoubtedly the most famous citizen of Parcines, which has dedicated a museum as well as a cultural trail to this versatile genius. A vast network of hiking trails, including about 200 km, spans over the village and its surroundings. Moreover the sixteen three-thousanders, the highest and famous of which is the Roteck mountain, make hiking in this area an unforgettable alpine experience.
An absolute must-do in your holidays is a walk to the breathtaking waterfall of Parcines, characterised by a drop of 97 m. A further highlight is the modern Tessa Cable Car that takes its passengers from the valley station in Parcines to the Gigglberg mountain station within five minutes only. Due to the fabulous panorama and the great thermic conditions, the Gigglberg mountain is also very popular with paragliders. If you prefer excursions in the valley, we recommend a cycling tour on the Via Claudia Augusta or a walk along the Roggia di Parcines irrigation channel.
