Boasting a total of ca. 6,000 inhabitants, Naturno is located at 530 m a.s.l. surrounded by vineyards and orchards. On the Monte Sole, characterised by its subtopic vegetation, the famous Riesling grapevines flourish up to an altitude of 900 m a.s.l. Every year the village dedicates a festival to this particularly delicious white wine. However, Naturno includes several localities, that are Stava, Tablà e Cirlano and belongs to the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park. With 315 sunny days per year Naturno, that is by the way easily reachable by the Val Venosta train, is not only very popular with guests.
As far as promenades are concerned, you can walk along the paths Roggia di Stava, Ciardes or Senales. Also the Malga di Naturno alpine pasture, the Alta Via di Merano, the Guardia Alta and the Croda del Clivio are popular hiking destinations. The Via Claudia Augusta cycling path, the largest nature fitness park of the Alps, the skate and leisure time park of Naturno as well as lama trekking make your stay unforgettable. By the way: Naturno makes great efforts in traffic abatement and in the protection of nature.
Some of the most important sights of Naturno are the ancient St Proculus Church, Castel Juval hosting Messners' mountain museum, as well as Castel Naturno. Every year Naturno stages several events such as the festival dedicated to the Riesling wine, the theatre and culture festival Naturns Lacht, the Ötzi Alpine Marathon as well as the Gourmet Autumn.
