Sirmiano is located above Nalles and is also called Sirmiano di Sotto
If you pass Castel Schwanburg and follow the road to the right, you reach the locality of Sirmiano, also called Sirmiano di Sotto. Up to the year 1964 the village was part of the municipality of Tesimo. Located at 700 m a.s.l. in the west above Nalles, this village mainly consists of farmsteads that are spread all over the slope, nestling in the heart of vineyards and orchards.
On a rock spur above the village, there is Castel Bavaro, constructed by the aristocrats Von Payr. What we also recommend is a visit to the little Santo Cuore Church, built in 1843, which boasts a wooden baroque altar.
A typical product is the “Weißsirmianer” wine, which is pressed mainly from Pinot Blanc grapes. As far as excursions and walks are concerned, we recommend, for example, a hike to Gaido.
