Labers Castle dates back to the 11th century and is located in the homonymous village among fruit orchards and vineyards.
Particularly in the second World War this castle had a central role to play, as it was production facility for phony pound sterling and US dollars.
In 1885 this castle was renovated and two towers were added. Moreover the castle was transformed into an accommodation. Famous holiday guests have also stayed here, such as poet Paul Heyse, Gertrud von Le Fort or Stefan Zweig.
Still open to the public is the castle chapel S. Michael, dating back to the 15th century.
