If you drive across the Adige bridge you reach the village of Ried, which belongs to the municipality of Lagundo. Ried is located at 500 m a.s.l. in the bottom of the valley of the eastern Val Venosta and is surrounded by orchards.

Ried is above all known for the lower terminus of the lift to Riolagundo, the 1,360 m high mountain village, an ideal starting point for hikes, offering also a great view of Naturno and Parcines as well as of the Gruppo di Tessa mountains. Ried is also connected to the Val Venosta railway line, so you can easily make a getaway to the surrounding villages and the city of Merano.
