The skiing area Schwemmalm makes you skiing up to 2,600 m a.s.l. and offers some 25 km of well groomed ski slopes as well as an impressive panoramic view on the surrounding mountains, including the Ortles mountain massif. The valley station of the cable car is located in Pracupola (Kuppelwies). One of the jewels in this skiing area is the ski slope at the foot of the Cima Muta, one of the greatest slopes all over South Tyrol, offering wide slopes, perfect for carving. The longest valley run overcomes considerable 1,100 m.
The steepest passage is included in the so called Asmol ski slope. Well-known is the Bagjump, a air bag facility, making you experience the adrenaline of a free fall! For snowboarders the snowpark Schwemmalm offers two lines and four tables. The Val d'Ultimo ski school lends you a helping hand if you try your first passes on snow. Moreover there are ski and snowboard rentals, where the latest equipment is available. Dominik Paris comes from Pracupola and made his first swings here, also other well-known ski stars like to use the Schwemmalm as a training centre: Lindsey Vonn, Giulia Mancuso and Aksel Lund Svindal have already been here to prepare for the season.
For those who spend some days in Val d'Ultimo and do not want to ski, there is a toboggan run named "Moscha". Within a walk of 20 minutes you reach the start of the toboggan run, overcoming an altitude drop of 500 m. As this run is illuminated, you can also sometimes enjoy this activity at night. Kids, however, find in the Schwemmalm skiing area the "Bärenhöhle" ski kindergarten and the "Schwemmy Snow World". Ice skating is also possible on the new square right next to the valley station. No matter if you prefer skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing or tobogganing, winter in Val d'Ultimo is like it was once upon a time!
