Merano 2000 belongs to the ski carousel Ortler Skiarena, of which it is the largest skiing area beside Solda. The skiing area Merano 2000 is accessible via Avelengo, where a gondola starts and takes you on the slopes. Some 40 km of ski slopes are available in this skiing area, most of which are of medium difficulty. Moreover it is a family-friendly area: in the children's snow park "Luckis Kinderland", equipped with magic carpet, your little ones learn how to ski.
The panoramic view is breathtaking, in the west you can see the Ortles Mountain range, which is over 3,000 m high, in the south you can admire the spur of the Alps and in the east the magic peaks of the Dolomites. You need a brake? Stop at one of the ski refuges, which will provide for your creature comforts. For those who love cross-country skiing, there is a trail in Falzeben. Ski touring is also a popular activity in this area, as there are a 25 km network of paths and numerous fabulous destinations in the surroundings.
The skiing area is equipped with eight lift facilities, some of which have been replaced with more modern equipment in the recent years, and three magic carpets for children in "Luckis Kinderland". An attraction in the skiing area is the longest Alpine Coaster in South Tyrol, the Alpin Bob. Particularly popular is the combi ticket "Thermal Baths & Ski", which includes a 4 hours ski pass ticket in the ski resort Merano 2000, a ride on the Alpin Bob (toboggan run - Saturday/Sunday) and the admission to Merano Thermal Baths (use of the pools for 3 hours). A thrilling experience!
