Merano and surroundings is not only an attractive area in spring, but also deep in winter. This is where every winter sport fan can exert his favoured sport, for example skiing. There are numerous skiing areas in the surroundings: Merano 2000 is located high above the roofs of Merano and offers not only ski slopes, but also toboggan runs and cross-country ski trails. The Val Passiria valley offers a skiing area that is particularly popular with families, which is located at Plan.
The Schwemmalm, which is the name of the skiing area of Val d'Ultimo, offers not only well-groomed ski slopes, but also a perfect view to the Ortles mountain range. The Val Senales Glacier is not only skiable in winter, but also in spring and autumn. The wide range of offer is completed by the little skiing area for families at Monte San Vigilio, located above Lana.
Please notice that in Italy skiers and snowboarders below the age of 18 have to wear a protective helmet on the slopes. In addition, all skiers and snowboarders must have a valid liability insurance covering damage or injury to third parties. Have fun on the slopes in the Merano region!
