Also in the nearer surroundings of Merano, e.g. in the Val Venosta, there are numerous possibilities for climbers!
Monte Orso-Solda
Journey: from Merano to Passo Resia. At the junction Prato Stelvio/Solda, park at the Monte Orso lift facility.
Approach: follow path n° 3 for about 40 minutes
Routes: 4 routes up to 5a, 4 routes up to 6a, 2 routes up to 6c, 1 routes up to 7b
Nesselwand-lasa
Journey: from Merano to Lasa. In the centre on the road “Schneiderstraße”, turn left behind the bridge and then turn right. Proceed to Parnetz on a metalled road, park at a house.
Approach: from the parking area left to the rail track, follow the rail track, on the forest road, across the river, across the forest aisle to the climbing garden.
Routes: 1 routes up to 5a, 4 routes up to 6a, 9 routes up to 6c, 19 routes up to 7b, 13 routes up to 8a, 1 route up to 8a
Juval/Naturno:
Journey: from Merano to Naturno and to the entrance of Val Senales. Park at “Schnalserhof”.
Approach: follow the path at the left riverbank
Routes: 10 routes up to 5a, 19 routes up to, 43 routes up to 6b, 23 routes up to 7b, 11 routes up to 8a
Saustall/Upper climbing area Val Senales
Journey: from Merano to Naturno and to the entrance of Val Senales. Park in front of the first tunnel.
Approach: walk round the tunnel and follow the road for about 200 m
Routes: 2 routes up to 6a to 6c, 10 routes up to 7b, 14 routes up to 8a, 11 routes up to 8a
