We discover Valtina (Walten) in the Val Passiria valley and visit the “Wanserhof” with the little church “Saint John”

Starting point of our little walking tour is the village of Valtina, located at the Passo di Monte Giovo-Road. Starting at the church we follow the marker “Waltner Rundweg” towards east (no. 12). It leads us through meadows across the Valtina creek and along the southern valley side through the forest. After about 1 hour we reach the “Wanserhof” with its chapel dedicated to Saint John. The farm also offers meat and drink and we enjoy a short rest.
Invigorated like this we take the path no. 18 back to Valtina, now on the northern valley side. After about 20 minutes we reach the bend of the Passo di Monte Giovo-Road. After a short section along the road the marker of the “Waltner Rundweg” leads us up the steep hill (rightwards). We follow this path through the forest and meadows and finally come back to the village.
