This easy trail takes promenaders to the most important places related to Andreas Hofer, one of the most famous freedom fighters of Tyrol. Our starting point is the tourist office of San Leonardo in Passiria. We cross the main road and follow the steps taking us to a church on the St. Barbara path. When we reach the Brühwirt farm, we walk on past the elementary school, following the indications "Andreas Hofer-Weg".
In a short time we reach the Sandwirt, birthplace of Andreas Hofer (1767-1810) and today seat of the MuseumPasseier. Moreover, the Sandwirt it is a popular tavern offering traditional meals, and visitors can take a look at the historic living room of the farm. After a visit to the Sandwirt we continue our walk on the so called Gandöllenweg path, taking us back to the starting point in San Leonardo.
