Along the road to Proves, shortly before the village entrance, a narrow mountain street branches off on the right, leading to the farms of Tal and the Malga Manzara mountain hut (Stierbergalm). The road takes us to a small parking space at 1,390 m a.s.l., the starting point of our hike. We follow the forest path no. 19 to the Malga Manzara mountain hut. After reaching this beautiful place, the path no. 12 proceeds towards Mount Cima Ometto (Mandlspitz). It takes us to the timber line and further on to the crossing with the high-altitude path no. 133 (on the left).
This trail snakes its way through the stony mountain landscape up to the Passo di Brez, a mountain pass with beautiful view on the rear Einertal, a side valley of the Val d'Ultimo. We continue our hike to the Laghetto Cima Lavazzè Inferiore pond (Samersee). This mountain lake is located at 2,320 m a.s.l. at the foot of the Goldlahn Spitze, a peak of the Maddalene Mountain Chain, separating the Val di Non valley in the Trentino from the Val d'Ultimo valley in South Tyrol. The path no. 19 leads us back to the Malga Manzara mountain hut, where we enjoy a rest before we hike back into the valley again.
