A perfect hiking tour in spring, summer or autumn is the tour to the Alpine pastures of Avelengo

This fairly moderate hike takes you over a distance of 16 km and along well-marked trails. Sturdy shoes are recommended! Starting point is the parking site in Avelengo. Walk towards the town hall to trail no. 2A, which takes you along a forest road for 1.5 hours and up to the Wurzer mountain hut at 1,707 m a.s.l.
Continue on trail no. 2 and after half an hour you will reach the Verano Mountain Hut (Vöraner Alm, 1,873 m a.s.l.). Here you may go for a little break, but remember: the hut is opened from the middle of May to early November only. Hike further on trail no. 11A first and no. 11 later, until you reach the Leadner mountain hut at 1,514 m a.s.l. Again you might have a little break or continue on path no. 16 immediately back to the starting point in Avelengo.
