In Merano several cycle routes join together, like the one into the Val Passiria valley, to Bolzano or to the Val Venosta valley
The cycle route into the Val Passiria valley starts at the Thermal Bath Boulevard – from here it proceeds past the post bridge along the Passirio river through the park at the Sommerpromenade promenade and further via the Lazagsteig path to the subway, where it proceeds further through the river landscape.
Those who cycle along the Claudia-Augusta-Cycle Route, coming from the Val Venosta valley, can cross the main road after the village of Tel and proceed along the “Alte Landstraße” from Lagundo where a turnoff to Merano is possible. After some bends we are at the Adige riverside again and cycle along the river until the outskirts of Merano. Short after the bridge across the Passirio river we cycle around the racecourse in Maia Bassa, then along the Gampenstraße road to the Joahnnesstraße road, further through the Etschmanngasse alley, Cadornastraße, Angerweg and the Vigilplatz square. Here the district of Maia Bassa ends and the cycle route proceeds between orchards along the Romstraße road towards Sinigo and the train station of Lana-Postal and along the Adige river until Bolzano. The passage through the district of Maia Bassa is a little bit confusing but well-signposted, so that orientation succeeds.
