Along the road to the Passo delle Palade/Gampenpass, about 2 km above the Gfillerhof restaurant, a rustic mountain farm has changed into a real paradise for animals in summer 2014. The wide areal, divided into individual enclosures not only offers a farm inn but also seasonal features, like roasted chestnuts in autumn or theatre performances around Christmas.
The Jersey bull Kamillo, the billy goat Reinhard, the fallow deer Max and Moritz, the shepherd dogs Mila and Kunis, ancient domestic animal breeds like Galloway cattle, wool sheep and Wallis black-faced sheep and other animals like squirrels, prairie dogs, dwarf goats and donkeys have found their home at the farm. Some of them can move about freely, what creates excitement among the young guests. Also popular are the two emus, who share their area with turtles.
From the meadow behind the house a gorgeous view towards Bolzano and the Catinaccio mountain group is guaranteed. The Rainguthof farm can be visited during all seasons of the year. In spring and summer it offers cute animal babies and in autumn unforgettable colours and perfect visibility. A rewarding excursion destination!
