Krapfen

The Krapfen beignets are a tempting sweet dish and the highlight of a typical Törggele meal

Krapfen are made of a thin batter of rye and wheat flour, eggs, cream, oil and a touch of salt. Mostly they are filled with a home-made marmalade like chestnut, poppy, cranberry, apricot or plum jam, which fit perfectly. They are deep-fried and then put on kitchen paper to drain them well. Let's tell you a secret - enjoy them while they are still warm!

In South Tyrol Krapfen are also offered at fairs and festivals, a sweet taste adventure. It's a must to try them!
