Those interested in culture will find a multitude of opportunities in Merano and its surroundings to enrich themselves culturally and to immerse themselves in the world of South Tyrol's traditions. One of the most traditional festivals taking place in Merano is the Grape Festival held on the third weekend of October. This festival has been organised since 1886. However, Merano and surroundings also offers several cultural institutions such as museums and castles, e.g. the City Museum, Castel Tirolo, Trauttmansdorff Castle or the Touriseum focusing on the history of tourism.
