Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare, monologues, traditional theatres, modern stagings, comedies, own productions, tragedies or improvisations... the programme that is offered in the theatres of Merano and surroundings can undoubtedly show its face.

One of the most traditional theatres of this area is the Merano Municipal Theatre (Teatro Puccini) located next to the majestic Kurhaus. On December 1, 1900, this theatre was inaugurated with the theatre production „Faust“ by Goethe. Due to a committed theatre company, some 250 pieces were performed in this theatre annually. However, it was named after the composer Giacomo Puccini.

Also traditional performances, in which you might probably roar with laughter, are on the programme, merely with theatre groups in the villages. Whatever you are looking for, in one of the theatres of Merano and surroundings you are for sure going to find it!
