The Cima Vermoi (2,929 m a.s.l. - Vermoispitze in German) belongs to the Montesole in Val Venosta, which is a valley slope that is oriented towards south.
The tour on the Cima Vermoi starts in Val Venosta and takes to S. Martino al Monte by cable-car (1,736 m a.s.l.). S. Martino al Monte is a little mountain hamlet with tavern and a mountain station. From here you proceed on the trail no. 6/9 across meadows and forests to the crossing on the trail no. 9 to 2,200 m a.s.l. The ascent up to this point is not too steep. This is where the trail "Vermoi" starts, that takes you beyond the forest boundary and continues across rough slopes to the summit cross of the Cima Vermoi. Schedule some 3-4 hours for the ascent.
The view from the Cima Vermoi, a popular destination for tours, ranges from the main ridge of the Oetztal Alps with the Monte Similaun to the Val Venosta and the Ortles Alps. A unique place for taking pictures!
