The Cima Fiammante (3,228 m a.s.l. - Lodner in German) is located between the entrance of the Valle di Tel at Parcines in South Tyrol, and Obergurgl in the municipality of Sölden in North Tyrol. Its neighbours are the Cima Bianca Grande (3,278 m a.s.l.) and the Cima Rossa (3,037 m a.s.l.).
Starting point for the tour on the Cima Fiammante is the Rif. Fiammante, located at 2,259 m a.s.l. in the heart of the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, which also provides the possibility to stay overnight in summer. This mountain hut can be reached as well via the tavern Birkenwald at Parcines, schedule about 4 hours on trail no. 8. The tour is also an ideal starting point for tours on the Monterosso (3,337 m a.s.l., about 5 hours), the Cima Bianca Grande (3,279 m asl) and the Cigot (2,998 m a.s.l., 3 hours) as well as the Cima di Tel (2,998 m a.s.l., 3 hours).
The tour on the Cima Fiammante takes you about 3.5 hours. The trail stretches to the Forcella di Giovanni on trail no. 8, then it stretches to the Cima Fiammante. This is where the climbing passage across slopes and snow fields starts, taking you to the summit (I-II). Your efforts are rewarded by a breathtaking view on the surrounding mountains. Summer is the best season for this tour, for the descent we recommend you walking sticks and crampons.
