A place of tranquillity and a dreamy ski area await you on the local mountain of Lana

A cable car connects Lana with the skiing and hiking area of Monte San Vigilio (Vigiljoch in German), found at altitudes from 1,486 to 1,814 m a.s.l.. In summer, Monte San Vigilio has a lot to offer, from mountain biking to hiking, Nordic Walking and a number of other activities in the great outdoors. By the way: since the 60s, radon-containing mineral water is produced at Monte San Vigilio. This mineral spring water is applied in various therapies.
In winter, there are four ski lifts, taking you to some 5 km of ski runs at the heart of untouched natural sceneries. Moreover, they provide a toboggan run, a natural ice rink and all you need for relaxing snow-shoeing tours. And what about curling or a trip on a horse-drawn carriage?
Hiking suggestion: from the mountain station of the cable car (1,486 m a.s.l.), the trail no. 34 takes you to the S. Vigilio church (1,793 m a.s.l.), one of the highest located mountain sanctuaries in Tyrol. Its frescoes date back to the 14th century. Afterwards you continue to the mountain lake Laghetto Nero (no. 9). This part of the trail provides a great view on the surrounding mountains. The trail no. 7 takes you back to the starting point. For this walk we recommend to schedule about 2.5 hours.
