In the beautiful old town of Merano there’s a house for contemporary art, which is open all year round

Right at the Merano Medieval arcades - called "Portici" in Italian - the Cassa di Risparmio building is located. It houses "Kunst Meran Merano Arte", a place for contemporary art. The project is financed by public and private funds and operated by "Merano Arte", a non-profit cultural association and member of the national institutions and museums of contemporary art "AMACI".
On three floors and a surface of 500 sqm, projects and changing exhibitions in the fields of fine arts, architecture, literature, music, photography and new media take place. Workshops and school projects complete the offer of "Merano Arte" which has also turned into a meeting place for local artists. And after the visit, the Café Kunsthaus invites to enjoy an exquisite Italian Cappuccino.
By the way: in the last years, "Merano Arte" has e.g. organised the "Merano Spring" Festival, a dialogue between nature and art, in collaboration with other associations.
